Home Secretary arrives in military aircraft then refuses to speak to media as Tory MP praises work by minister Robert Jenrick

Refugee charities branded the decision “wholly inappropriate” but Downing Street defended Ms Braverman’s use of the aircraft, insisting it was to enable her to “see the area of operations at sea”. The Home Secretary spent two hours at the processing centre, where she spoke with staff and saw the conditions of the site at “first hand”.
According to the Home Office, more than 1,000 migrants have been moved on from the centre since Sunday, meaning there remains around 2,700 people on a site with a capacity of just 1,600.that it was hoped the numbers would be down to close to 1,500 by tomorrow. He welcomed Ms Braverman’s decision to visit the centre, and praised the work done byAsked how much involvement Mr Jenrick had in processing migrants at Manston, Sir Roger said: “A lot. There is no doubt in my mind.
“But to give credit to Suella she came down here and she now understands that Manston is a processing site, not an accommodation site.”with the former becoming increasingly exasperated by the Home Secretary’s failure to sign off on hotels to reduce the overcrowding at Manston.
