Suella Braverman flies to Rwanda to grandstand about asylum by LeahMahon_

The Home Secretary said she would not be"will not be hectored by out of touch lefties" over blacklash over the billSUELLA BRAVERMAN is due to fly to Rwanda this evening in an attempt to hash out plans on the “inhumane” policy to send asylum seekers to the African country despite growing backlash.

The publicly funded visit to Rwanda comes after Ms Braverman and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak unveiled the Illegal Migration Bill last week that will ban asylum seekers arriving in Britain on small boats through the English Channel. Ms Braverman told Parliament on Monday: “Rwanda is a dynamic country with a thriving economy. I have enjoyed visiting it myself, twice, and I look forward to visiting it again.”

The bill has been widely criticised by MPs including former PM Theresa May and sparked a row between the BBC and Gary Lineker who temporarily ousted from appearing on the broadcasters Match of the Day programme after he compared Braverman’s language towards asylum seekers as being similar to the rhetoric used in Germany in the 1930s.

The Illegal Migration Bill will allow the government to lock people up without bail for up to 28 days with the possibility to extend this for even longer.
