A Suffolk Police officer was released from the hospital just a week after getting shot in the upper thigh during a confrontation with an alleged gang member.

"A 9mm hollow-point bullet that is designed to do the maximal damage as it tears, rips, and pulls tissue went through him, and we’re discharging him today."As hundreds cheered for LaFauci - his family expressed gratitude.
