Bryson Wheatfall had a slam dunk with 33 seconds left in the game against C.E. King Friday night, bringing the Summer Creek bench and fans out of their seats.

“It was basically the cherry on top,” the sophomore guard Wheatfall said of the dunk. “They had come in our house and got a big win on us, and we had to come back and get a win over here.”With the win, the Bulldogs sit in third place in district and will host Atascocita at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bulldogs gym.

“To be honest I thought we locked in as a team,” Wheatfall said. “On defense our energy went up to another level. When we got that lead, we didn’t want to let it go. That’s what happened last time when we played so we had to make sure that we were on the same page.”Summer Creek was led by junior guard Cameron Patterson, who fouled out midway through the fourth quarter. He finished with 18 points.
