Sunny but chillier weather is on the way for central Pennsylvania after an overcast and rainy start to the week. Forecasters said Thursday will be the first in several days without clouds, heavy fog and a chance of rain hanging over the midstate.said. Temperatures are expected to peak in the mid 50s.Forecasters said a sunny and dry weekend is ahead, but with only low 40-degree highs. Saturday also has a chance of up to 20 mph wind gusts.
On Twitter, the NWS at State College said the midstate has experienced the warmest start to January on record. Even though temperatures are expected to drop this week, forecasters said the weather will still be warmer than usual for this time of year. It's only been a few days, but so far the warmest start to January...we will update these tables later this morning to incorporate data from 1/4/23.
