Alvin Chau, who had extensive dealings with the Crown and Star casinos, was found guilty of a criminal organisation, operating illegal gaming and fraud.

A NSW inquiry into Crown in 2020 heard evidence that the company had due diligence dossiers that linked Chau to the 14K triad gang and other alleged illegal activities and continued to do business with Suncity.

Government inquiries into Star last year also heard that a report prepared for the Hong Kong Jockey Club that found Chau was likely linked to organised crime circulated among the casino’s management but that it still kept dealing with him.
