NEW: Levi's Stadium officially selected as the site of Super Bowl LX.
Levi’s Stadium was the site for Super Bowl 50, when the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers, 24-10, on Feb. 7, 2016.
“We are honored to host the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium once again, and to be stewards of one of the biggest sporting events in the world,” 49ers president Al Guido said. According to a third-party research firm, Sportsimpacts, Super Bowl 50 provided a net positive economic impact on the Bay Area of at least $240 million.
The 49ers are expected to receive a loan of more than $120 million from the NFL's stadium fund for stadium improvements prior to the Super Bowl and World Cup. The areas of improvement are slated for the suites and video boards.
