'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' smashes box office records with the biggest global opening for an animated film ever
said"Super Mario" was set to be"the first all-audience blockbuster of 2023." As well as the PG-rated title winning interest from families, it was also"appealing to the generations of adults who grew up playing Nintendo's wildly popular Mario games."
According to the trade publication, it's also a record opening haul for a film based on a video game.that the movie had delivered a record opening weekend for an animated film. It said the movie performed strongly internationally and was the biggest IMAX opening weekend of all time in Argentina, Chile, and Colombia.
