Supercars championship leader Will Brown has charged home to pass Red Bull Ampol teammate Broc Feeney with eight laps remaining and claim a thrilling win at the Taupo 400 in New Zealand. Feeney looked certain to secure his fourth win of the season when he led for 39 of the 60 laps in Sunday’s race after picking off pole-sitter Matt Payne early.

“I was buggered after that, I was trying everything to get around him.” Shell V-Power’s Anton De Pasquale was the best Ford driver, finishing third for his second podium of the weekend, earning the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy. The Red Bull cars spoiled the party for the New Zealand crowd, who hoped Auckland-born Payne could back up fellow Kiwi’s Andre Heimgartner’s memorable win in the wet on Saturday.
