A surf instructor has helped the RNLI rescue four people who drifted out to sea on an inflatable mattress off Scarborough
"Fortunately, by the time the crew arrived on scene, Scarborough RNLI lifeguards based in North Bay along with a surf instructor from Dexter's Surf Shop had retrieved the mattress with its occupants all safe and well.
"Always check the tides and weather before you head to sea. It’s also important to remember that inflatables, whilst they may look fun, are not suitable for the beach. They can get caught up in the wind and tides very easily and you can soon find yourself somewhere you had no intention of being and in need of assistance."
