★★★½ - Two decades after he started mixing music from a CD found in a cereal box, and six years on from his last show in Sydney, Flume has captivated his home crowd.
From fiddling with a music-making program found on a CD in a cereal box on the Northern Beaches when he was 11 years old, to winning a Grammy Award and shaking up a packed Sydney Showground on Friday, it’s still the home-town show that puts a smile on Flume’s face.
Starting in front of a projection of a wheel, morphing and bursting into colour to the sound of revving, Flume’s easy-going demeanour is perhaps the anchor throughout a show that takes spectators on a trip – visually and sonically.
