Yariv commented on the emotional toll of her job, saying, “At the end of that three weeks, it was not numbers for me; it was real people with a story. I think the hardest part was knowing for a lot of days, for example, that people were killed and not being allowed to say anything or share.” “They found the parents at one side of the house and the children on the other side of the house, and the people that came to take out the bodies said that they cut their hands off or their feet off,” she recounted. “And you're just trying to imagine which one was first? Did the children see it first or the parents?”Nachmias was in college on October 7 when the attacks started.
His family was only three miles away from Gaza and his 20-year-old brother went to help protect his village.Nachmias stated, “I don't think anyone understands how it is to see your younger brother with shooting injuries all over his body. You can see they fought hard because there were many bullets surrounding them.”
