A major update has emerged following a fatal knife attack in Solingen, Germany where three people were killed and eight were injured.
Prosecutors have alleged a Syrian man who claims to have been behind a fatal stabbing rampage in Germany , shared the ideology of terror group Islamic State.
The Office of the Federal Prosecutor revealed the alleged motive of the knifeman in a statement, saying the suspect"shares the ideology of the foreign terrorist organisation Islamic State" and aimed"to kill the largest possible number of those he considers unbelievers" on the basis of his"radical Islamic convictions".
Local newspaper Der Spiegel reported the Syrian had arrived in Germany in late 2022 where he applied for asylum. The Office of the Federal Prosecutor revealed the alleged motive of the knifeman in a statement, saying the suspect aimed"to kill the largest possible number of those he considers unbelievers" on the basis of his"radical Islamic convictions". Two other individuals were arrested by police for allegedly knowing about the attack before it occurred, but failing to report it to authorities.
