Minutes before Tamworth dentist Dr Harshwardhan Narde died in a fiery car crash he took a call from a friend and told them he was abandoning plans to drive to Sydney and would head back home.on Friday, lasted three minutes during which he was "composed" even after being questioned throughout the day by police in Tamworth about his ex-girlfriend, fellow dentist Dr Preethi Reddy's disappearance.
Her body, with multiple stab wounds, was found by police in a suitcase in the backseat of her abandoned car on Tuesday night almost 24 hours after Dr Narde died in the car crash. But in the weeks leading up to the conference, Dr Narde told his brother Dr Reddy had "called him to express her wish to meet him".
Before she was killed, Dr Reddy told her former boyfriend she was planning to move interstate to be with her new partner.
