Norwegian police have revealed evidence does not indicate human activity led to the death of beloved beluga whale Hvladimir who was thought to be a Russian spy.

Beloved beluga whale Hvladimir thought to have been a trained Russia n spy was not shot dead in Norway, investigators find

Animal rights groups OneWhale and NOAH filed police reports to examine the animal's death suggesting it may have been intentionally killed, claiming Hvladimir was found with"multiple bullet wounds". Hvladimir, the tame whale who lived off Norway's coast first sparked world speculation and media attention when it was spotted near Russian waters with a GoPro camera. Picture: Instagram.

OneWhale claimed:"Several veterinarians, biologist, and ballistic experts have reviewed evidence of Hvladimir's injuries, determining that the whale's death was the result of a criminal act". Most of the wounds on the whale appeared to be"superficial" with no evidence from the investigation suggesting that"human activity has directly led to Hvaldimir's death," Preede Revheim, head of the North Sea and environment section of the police in South Western Norway said.

Animal rights group OneWhale, which nicknamed the beluga whale Hvaldimir - a combination of the Norwegian word for whale and the first name of the Russian president, have published posts to their social media stating they"demand the truth".
