cafe is desperately looking to fill a job and has resorted to an expensive advertising campaign in the hopes of fixing their labour shortage.

Bay Ten Espresso in Lavender Bay has been looking to hire a chef for months but the traditional advertising methods aren't working. "So we've been actively looking for a chef now for at least two months. And we've been advertising and all the traditional methods," owner Kristy Bannister said."Prior to COVID, we would post an ad and we would have at least 200 applicants apply for the position with us, we would have to close the ad off within 24 hours.To try and fill the job, the cafe has hired billboards along the M2 and near the airport to advertise the position.

Industry bodies say it's a sign Australia needs more overseas workers to fill the growing job vacancies in the hospitality industry.
