Monday marks one month since the deadly stabbing attack at Westfield Bondi Junction which left six people dead, as the community works through the painful process of 'reclaiming' the space.
For Bill Mohana, every day at work in the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre now triggers traumatic memories.Mr Mohana said he remembers seeing a "stampede" of people running, before he bundled his clients into the back of his salon and locked the door.The sound of people's "horrific" screams and the gunshots fired by NSW Police Inspector Amy Scott , as she took down the knifeman, still ring in his ears.
"Something's happening to me and I've never experienced it before … I'm still trying to understand it. They provided support to more than 900 Westfield staff, shoppers and people paying their respects at makeshift memorials and vigils. "While people may think they're okay, there'll be periods when they're not … be gentle with yourself and others."
