Gisborne, a township in the Macedon Ranges just outside Melbourne and its lockdowns, is the nation’s most coveted location for homebuyers this year, with houses and units attracting the highest views per listing and edging out some of Sydney’s most iconic locations, Domain’s analysis shows.

Lifestyle additions and location were high on buyer’s wish lists, with “pool”, “view”, “study” and “waterfront” topping the search words. “While property prices will continue to soften in 2023, it is unlikely they will erase all the growth seen during the pandemic boom,” Dr Powell said.
