Hosam Soueid, 36, suffered two blows to the head in an assault in 2002 and has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.and then raping her on the street at around 2am in Castle Hill on November 21, 2021.Hosam Soueid admitted to following an 18-year-old woman in his car as she left a Castle Hill McDonald's and raping her.
"Your Honour would find that there is a causal connection between the offending and his mental health condition," he told Judge Mark Buscombe. "The conduct of the offender and the circumstances of the offending are almost, I would submit, the definition of opportunistic," Trevallion said.He was also suffering under more onerous conditions in jail due to his mental health and was in protective custody after an assault.
