A man and his toy poodle have allegedly been attacked by a stranger while going for a walk in inner-Sydney.
Seung Won Kang was walking his two-year-old dog, Zico along Allen Street in Pyrmont about 7pm last Friday when a man called him over. The man allegedly began yelling at him, and punched the 33-year-old and kicked the poodle as they tried to walk away, NSW Police said. A passer-by intervened, however the dog owner was again allegedly assaulted before more people came to their aid and the man ran away.
Mr Kang told 9News the attack "happened out of the blue", and said the alleged attacker was yelling racial slurs at him.NSW Police Inspector Gary Coffey said there is "not a very clear motive" for the alleged attack and noted the accused had alcohol on him at the time.
