Tens of thousands of Sydneysiders are expected to participate in the 2022 City2Surf which will return this weekend after two years of COVID-related cancellations.
The 14-kilometre running event will return on Sunday after it was cancelled two years in a row due to COVID-19.
The track extends from the intersection of Park Street and College Street before heading downhill on William Street and up through the Kings Cross Tunnel towards Rushcutters Bay. The course continues along New South Head Road through Rose Bay before competitors are met with the infamous “Heart Break Hill”, the halfway point and the road to the most scenic part of the run.
“We advise motorists to avoid unnecessary travel through the eastern suburbs or expect significant delays and allow plenty of extra travel time, as traffic will be heavy while closures and detours are in place,” Mr Moran said. Residents looking to leave their car overnight on Saturday are reminded to check the signs as cars left in the clearway will be towed away.
