A month's worth of rain fell in mere hours across parts of the city yesterday and Bureau of Meteorology has warned residents may not get reprieve from the wet conditions for another 10 days.
Senior meteorologist Jonathan How said the continual rain on already wet ground will increase the risk of flash flooding events this week. Several flood watches are still in place for the Central Coast, which was hard hit by rain yesterday.The Central Coast Highway in Gosford was closed after flash flooding yesterday."Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours," the BoM wrote.
