Those in the 12 hardest-hit LGAs have been left reeling emotionally and financially from the harsh lockdowns, unable to leave their homes for more than an hour a day of exercise.

"This is a right Royal snub for our community and the more than two million people we represent," Khal Asfour, Canterbury Bankstown Mayor said today. A statement from Local Government NSW President Linda Scott this evening said she asked the premier, the health minister and police commissioner for a meeting on August 16.

In Blacktown cases jumped from 87 to 111, while Liverpool and Campbelltown are also seeing a steady rise.
