A 55-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly faking her vaccination status. 9News

Police discovered the 55-year-old woman was allegedly faking her vaccination status as detectives were investigating an organised criminal network in south-west Sydney, NSW police has revealed.

While investigating crimes in the network, which has led to 20 people being charged with crimes involving drugs, firearms, fraud and the proceeds of crime, police learnt a fake COVID-19 vaccine certificate had been acquired in October.Police then investigated the school administrative manager, who works at a school in Sydney's west, before raiding a home in Merrylands about 8.30am yesterday.A 55-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Granville Police Station.

She was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000, and participate in criminal group contribute criminal activity. Police will allege in court the woman used a fraudulent document to verify her vaccination status with her employer.
