Winter has arrived a few days early in Sydney with the city facing a week of cold and windy conditions, while snow has begun to fall in the ski fields of NSW.Snow falls have been reported at Thredbo and Perisher todayThe Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for the state with strong winds predicted to blow a cold front from west to east later on Monday.

Wind gusts are set to hit up to 50 kilometres per hour in Sydney on Monday evening, as high as 65 kph tomorrow and up to 35 kph by Wednesday. By Wednesday — the first day of winter — it's predicted there will be a top of 15C in the inner city and 14C in Penrith, Richmond and Campbelltown."Much of southern and eastern Australia is currently being impacted by a strong cold front and associated low-pressure system," the BOM said today.
