Sydney will host 11 games of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, including the final, after FIFA released the full schedule list for the trans-Tasman tournament
on Thursday morning.
Australia has been confirmed as the major host of the tournament after being given 35 of the 64 fixtures by FIFA, including 11 of the 16 knockout matches.Credit:New Zealand will host the opening match at Auckland’s Eden Park on July 20, 2023 and will stage 29 games including one semi-final. The new Sydney Football Stadium will host six group-stage matches and a round-of-16 game while Stadium Australia will host one round-of-16 game, a quarter-final, a semi-final and the decider on August 20.Eight games will be played in Brisbane with four group games, a round-of-16 match, quarter final and the third-place play-off held at Lang Park. FIFA will take group stage matches to Perth while Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide will be given four group games and a round-of-16 clash.
