Symphy Huggins has always loved the outdoors, but it's only been in the past five years she's turned her hand to gardening — and she has found native plants are great at replacing the traditional English garden styles.

Volunteers also help customers choose the right plant for the right location, and give advice about how to care for native plants.

Their small garden is near a bush reserve and they hope it will help connect other reserves and native gardens, and be part of a habitat corridor.Mr Muyt has a background in indigenous horticulture in Melbourne, which evolved into roles in bush land management and re-vegetation.
