There have been large celebrations after Syrian rebels ousted the country's longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad.
Ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his family have arrived in Russia where they have been granted asylum, according to Russian state media.
"All measures must be taken to ensure the protection of all minorities, and to avert reprisals and acts of revenge."Russia is declining to confirm whether Assad has fled to Moscow, adding that it was "surprised" by the rebel takeover. "We are working so that the transitional period is quick and smooth," Jalali told Sky News Arabia TV station on Monday.
