Comment: System is cooked when a 'sexual harasser' is promoted, not punished | JacquelineMaley
In the “About Us” section of the AMP Capital website, there is a subheading about “Culture and Diversity” which assures the reader that “fostering diversity and inclusion empowers our global workforce”.
It is the only executive position at the company with an “uncapped” performance bonus. Women at the company are rioting. Management is holding a series of virtual “town hall meetings” to soothe employees, who are asking, straight up, why this man was promoted, given his known history. In a classic twist, Thursday’s meeting was run by the only woman on the executive team, sent in to face livid staff and mop up the mess.“Get rid of him!” said one staffer, according to reports.
At a time of shrinking newsrooms and the increasing shrillness of social media, this is hazardous for everyone, but the unchangeable fact is that it is women who face the most danger, the most damage, and in the case of AMP Capital, the only serious consequences. Neither of the judges, now retired, have commented on these reports, except for Gleeson telling one journalist "the accounts relayed to you are false", in response to questions.
