Taiwan, which China claims as its own territory, has complained for the past two years of repeated missions by the Chinese air force, with the latest incursion coming less than a month after 30 Chinese fighters entered Taipei's Air Defence Identification Zone.

Last month China's military conducted an exercise around Taiwan as a "solemn warning" against its "collusion" with the US Some of the aircraft flew in an area to the north-east of the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands, according to a map the ministry provided.
