Take a first look at Ford's performance F-150 Lightning concept.
In the post, Farley is showing Red Bull Racing reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo the truck's front bumper. We can only see a small section under the cover, but the distinctive headlight shape of an F-150 Lightning is clear. The truck also has a massive air dam, what look like beadlock wheels, and a livery that resembles some of the other cars in what Ford calls its"performance demonstrator" fleet.
In the teaser shared last week, the empty spot for this truck was shown next to the Mach-E 1400, the F-100 Eluminator, the Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, and the SuperVan 4 concept. While the Eluminator was meant to showcase the road-ready side of EV performance, the other three produce in excess of 1000 horsepower and exist to bring outrageous levels of electric performance to unexpected places.
Ford has used all four of its previous demonstrators in many promotions since their respective reveals, even bringing out the Mach-E 1400 in a Red Bull livery as part of its Formula 1 launch last weekend. With that standard set, expect the F-150 Lightning demonstrator to produce outrageous power and get plenty of use on tracks throughout the country over the next few years.
