A woman beaten and abused by her violent ex has condemned a "disappointing" prison sentence handed down by a court.
And while his victim is relieved Forrest is now behind bars, she insists the sentence imposed by Hamilton Sheriff Court isn't long enough. "But I'm massively relieved he is behind bars. It'll give me a bit of time to live life without fear of seeing him." Forrest will be eligible for early release next October, and the victim hopes the publicity surrounding this case will encourage others to come forward.
"I just wish I could do more for domestic abuse sufferers to help raise awareness. I would love to see the footage of my abuse make a difference and massively impact others.In a victim impact statement to the court she explained how he rammed bank notes into her mouth when she asked for money, and in a CCTV clip he can be seen 'rag-dolling' her against a car.
