Screen Rant was on the red carpet for StarTrekPicard season 3's star-studded world premiere. Check out what some of the cast, including Sir Patrick Stewart, jonathansfrakes & JeriLRyan, and other notable guests had to say about the state of StarTrek:
The highly-anticipated Star Trek: Picard season 3 promises to be the biggest Star Trek event in decades. It premieres on February 16 after a nearly year-long wait, and there are sure to be important aspects of the franchise mythology incorporated.
You are a Star Trek icon. You've been with season 3 since the beginning, but what does season 3 mean to you? Jonathan Frakes: Tawny [Newsome] and Jack [Quaid] come over and join us. It's brilliant. Again, it's an entirely different tone. Flat out comedy. Full-on comedy. And Anson [Mount]'s a brilliant comedian. Rebecca Romijn, who I've worked with a lot, is very, very funny. And Ethan [Peck] is. I had a ball [directing] that one too. I'm pretty fortunate.
Jeri Ryan: Seven, when we meet her, is struggling. She's butting up against the constraints of Starfleet, of working under a very tough Captain, butting heads a lot. She's really questioning where she is, I think, when we first encounter her. And does she really belong here? And does she fit in here? Which has been her eternal struggle: Where do I fit in? And so, she's pretty tense, and she's kind of at wit's end when we first encounter her.
