Barley, wine, seafood, cotton and metals are affected by the tariffs. China last week lifted a $1.6 billion ban on timber imports,“I think Australia does deserve to have absolute clarity that these trade sanctions are going to be lifted, and that clarity should be there before the prime minister entertains a formal state visit to Beijing,” Senator Birmingham told ABC TV on Sunday.“Why? Because China is acting very clearly in breach of its commitments to Australia.
Mr Albanese’s visit to Hiroshima included a hastily rescheduled meeting of the Quad leaders: US President Joe Biden, Japan’s Fumio Kishida and India’s Narendra Modi. Australia’s Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Pat Conroy, will be present for the talks, hosted by Mr Blinken and PNG Prime Minister James Marape.
