Tasmania has also been hit with flood warnings as significant rainfall up to 40mm is forecast for the weekend. The flood warnings include areas surrounding the North, North East, Huon, Derwent and South East Catchments.
Further north, total fire bans have been enforced as firefighters battle 39 bushfires across New South Wales.
