Doctors warn there's nothing unique about Tasmania's north-west region, which is now fighting a major coronavirus outbreak.

Parts of Tasmania outside the north-west may have"dodged a bullet", but the risk of coronavirus outbreaks in other regions remains, a senior doctor has warned.

It and the adjacent North West Private Hospital have been temporarily closed for a"deep clean", and the outbreak is being investigated. Australian Medical Association Tasmanian president John Burgess said the outbreak in the north-west was something that could happen anywhere in Australia.
