UTS chief economist Tim Harcourt has told Sky News Australia three state Labor MPs could side with the Liberal Party to support the controversial AFL stadium.

The AFL has granted Tasmania a license to play as the 19th team in the league, following a $715 million stadium proposal at Hobart's Macquarie Point, with the state to receive $240 million coming in federal funding.
