Both options are poor for consumers for a variety of reasons, including the fact that you’ll lose some of the refund money that’s due to you. showed that, even though some tax anticipation loans don’t have direct fees for consumers, they may wind up paying indirect charges. For example, lenders who partner with tax preparation companies may charge a fee of $35 to $45 per loan, which may be passed along to the consumer in the form of higher tax preparation fees.
