Victorian parents will be taught to talk to their children about online gaming and the risks of associated gambling without limiting screen time entirely.

Shane Lucas, chief executive of the Responsible Gambling Foundation, said parents will learn how to identify dangers such as excessive gaming and cyber bullying in certain games associated with gambling.

Mr Lucas said the review looked at the country's 22 most popular games and found around 10 of those presented red flags.
