The Teal independents are “weaponising” at just the right time as they eye off key seats at the Victorian and New South Wales state elections, Sky News host Chris Smith says.
“Get set for two further political ambushes, at this year’s Victorian state election, and next year’s NSW election,” Mr Smith said.
“In marginal Victorian seats like Hawthorn and Kew, the Teal army is gathering, local offices have been opened, without shingle – and the social media campaign is about to be unleashed. “Meanwhile in NSW … in the seat of Vaucluse, where Liberal MP Gabrielle Upton has just announced her exit from politics, the Climate 200 group would be eyeing off stealing more blue ribbon territory – and if they can do it in Wentworth, who says they can’t do it in Vaucluse?”
