The Broncos are leading the way on the ladder, and it’s the same in round three’s team of the week. Brisbane have a very healthy four players in our squad of 17, although – like the ladder itself – the Sea Eagles are hot on their heels.
1. Clint Gutherson
As good a performance as you’ll find in a losing side. Gutherson was everywhere in Thursday’s loss to the Sea Eagles. Scored two and saved one on Christian Tuipoluto that he simply shouldn’t have. Immense.Didn’t stop against Wests Tigers on Sunday. Josh Addo-Carr got the tries on the other flank but, in brutal Belmore conditions, Kiraz will be in his forwards’ good books all week – tremendous work coming out of trouble, with 25 carries and 283 running metres.
Like Josh Schuster, could become absolutely anything. Two opportunistic tries to bookend 80 minutes of constantly threatening the defence, and then turning in some threatening defence of his own.Similar to Olakau’atu, whacked anything in red, white and blue all night. Just ask Lindsay Collins. Scored the Rabbitohs’ opener and was dangerous whenever play came down his edge.Ran shotgun with Haas all night. When the game was there for the taking, it was Carrigan running off his front-rower.
