Team WRT takes a dominant victory at the Bathurst 12-hour race, but the celebration is overshadowed by a serious crash involving Grove Racing's Stephen Grove.

Team WRT dominated the Bathurst 12-hour race, securing a one-two finish with their BMW GT3 cars. Augusto Farfus and brothers Kelvin and Sheldon van der Linde piloted the #32 car to victory, crossing the finish line after 306 laps with a 10.245-second lead over their WRT teammate, Valentino Rossi. SunEnergy1 Racing took the final podium spot. This marked a historic first victory for the #32 trio, with the van der Linde brothers competing together for the first time in a BMW .

However, the celebrations were overshadowed by a dramatic crash involving Stephen Grove, the owner of Grove Racing and competitor in the race. Contact from SunEnergy1 driver Kenny Habul sent Grove's car into a spin, sending it airborne and crashing into the concrete wall at Skyline. The car landed on its wheels, but a fire ignited near the left-front railing. Grove managed to escape the vehicle and was transported to Orange Hospital. Initial tests revealed back injuries, but Grove remains in good spirits and is eager to return to racing. The incident involved Grove Racing's competing boss, casting a shadow over Team WRT's victory. Further tests are scheduled at Sydney's Westmead Hospital to determine the full extent of Grove's injuries. Officials ruled the incident a racing incident, with Habul not receiving a penalty. The race saw other notable incidents, including Supercars legend Craig Lowndes suffering a drive shaft failure, forcing him to retire 90 minutes in. Supercars young gun Broc Feeney's race ended in the seventh hour due to a car failure, while Arise Racing's Chaz Mostert, Daniel Serra, and Will Brown were hampered by a fuel shortage in the final hour. Bathurst 12-hour debutant Ryan Sorenson experienced a spin and crash, resulting in a trip to the hospital for both Sorenson and another driver, Marcel Zallou.
