Ted Cruz called out by White House Twitter account for promoting project he voted against

Cruz was promoting the designation of Interstate 27 as part of the national interstate system. The project, which will be a corridor from Laredo to North Dakota, will be funded by the omnibus appropriations bill, which passed the Senate by a 68-31 vote. One of the senators to vote against it was Cruz.
"This project will bring jobs to Texas and millions of dollars to the state," Cruz wrote in a tweet."A great bipartisan victory!""Senator Cruz voted against this," the White House account wrote in response to the senator's tweet.
Cruz has been a long-time supporter of the project, and his work did help get funding for the project, but he has neglected to mention that he voted against that funding while promoting the project., a spokesman for Cruz said the bill that funded the project so ardently supports a"Democrat spending spree" that contributed to an"economic recession for American families."
