A teenager has died after a vehicle carrying five others left the road and crashed into a tree overnight in Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Six teenagers, believed to be friends, were in a Toyota Hilux which was travelling on Cabbage Tree Road at Bayview in Pittwater before it went off the road and hit a tree about 12.20am on Saturday.
The 17-year-old P-plate driver was airlifted to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner as inquiries continue by officers in the Crash Investigation Unit. "There is a range of injuries to the persons... ranging between serious crush injuries to the chest and also leg fractures and other injuries," he said.
