Police say the man was treated on the slopes after he lost control and hit a tree, but could not be saved.
Investigations are continuing into the death of a Sydney teenager after he hit a tree while skiing at Thredbo at the weekend.
Police said Oliver Johnson, 18, from Killara in Sydney's north, lost control on a slope and crashed about 11am Sunday.The teen was treated at the scene before being flown to a nearby medical centre, but he could not be saved.A large dump of snow earlier this month brought forward the ski season in some parts Snowy Mountains.Southern Region commander Peter Cotter said police would target road safety, anti-social behaviour and personal safety.
"Our priority is to keep people safe – on the slopes, roads, licensed venues and out and about in the alpine region," he said."Snowfield conditions can be more difficult to navigate so we'd like to remind everyone to prioritise safety on your journey – pay close attention to the roads, don't get distracted and slow down."
