Teen girls charged with murder over Gold Coast balcony death
Two teenage girls will be charged with the murder and torture of Cian English, 19, who fell to his death from a Gold Coast apartment.
Police will allege that during the evening the other group of people produced a knife and robbed Mr English and his friend, in an attack lasting about half an hour.Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said Mr English was trying to escape off the balcony and fell to his death.Video posted to social media
Two girls, aged 15 and 16 from Coomera on the Gold Coast, were arrested this morning to be charged with murder, armed robbery, deprivation of liberty, torture and stealing. Three men, aged 18, 20 and 22, were charged two days after the incident with one count of murder, armed robbery and deprivation of liberty.Detective Inspector Smith said the girls filmed the incident, and that a number of videos were posted to social media.
Police will also allege that during the ordeal some the defendants saw Mr English dead, before stealing clothes from one of his friends who was unconscious.
