The two teenagers, aged 13 and 14, remain in custody
Two teenage boys are in custody after a girl was attacked on a bus in Eccles over the weekend. Police were called to reports of the assault before two youths, aged 13 and 14, were detained by officers.
Whilst being arrested, police then recovered a large kitchen knife, police said. The two teenagers were taken into custody after being arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article. The girl did not sustain any injuries in the attack however investigations remain ongoing. The force urged anyone with information about someone carrying a knife to contact them.A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Two juveniles aged 13 and 14 from Irlam have been arrested for assault and possession of a bladed article, following an incident in Eccles over the weekend.
"Responding to reports of a female being assaulted on a bus, officers responded and detained the two, whilst also recovering a large kitchen knife. The female sustained no injuries and both males were taken to custody. "Knife crime results in devastating consequences. Know someone that is carrying a knife?
