Paramount Global has a TMNT: The Last Ronin video game in development, and it's aimed towards a more mature audience.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin's upcoming video game adaption is based on the short graphic novel series by TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Kevin Laird in 2020, which told a darker story where all but one of the titular turtles has been killed by Shredder's Foot Clan. It'll be a third-person action RPG that forgoes the usual lighthearted representation of TMNT for a grim and mature experience.
The surviving turtle, or Last Ronin, wields each of his brothers' legendary weapons, as he makes his way across a battle-torn New York in search of vengeance. Due to the darker nature of the story, TMNT: The Last Ronin won't be aimed at children like other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games, and will instead focus on an older audience so Paramount doesn't have to"dial back to make the game something it shouldn't be.
