Police say a complex investigation has led to charges of murder, burglary and arson against an 18-year-old man.
Police have charged an 18-year-old man over a fatal shed fire that killed a 50-year-old man at his Queensland home in 2022.
Emergency services were called to a fire at Pacific Haven, west of the popular retirement destination Hervey Bay, in the early hours of February 18. Police said they arrived to find a "donga" style structure on the property had been destroyed by the flames.An investigation by Homicide and Criminal Investigation Unit detectives led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man on Monday, more than two years after the alleged crime.The 18-year-old man has been charged with murder, burglary, and three counts of arson.
