2-year-old brother who shot himselfThe teenager — who is not being publicly identified because of his age — faces one count each of making a firearm accessible to a child resulting in death and tampering with physical evidence, police said. He is currently in custody at the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers responded to a home in the 5300 block of Pocassett Drive early April 4 and found a woman holding her toddler son who had a gunshot wound, police previously said. The child, identified by the county coroner as Rio Carrington, was taken to a hospital where he died.
